Iconic Cultural Moments at @EFDevcon 2025
Vitalik's outfit on the first day was a statement of what was coming.
Thiru.eth became an international superstar, when he posted a welcoming tweet about being in Argentina, and was received with a lot of racism. Luckily, the whole crypto community came forward to spread positivity and welcome Thiru to the country. At the time of writing, the tweet has 29.4M views.
The announcement of Devcon 8 coming to India was unexpected, but welcomed by the community.
The Uniswap cup featured incredible football matches, Polymarket bets, and the perfect atmosphere before starting Devconnect.
Notable Events at La Rural
ETHCon Argentina, @EtherArgentina Hackathon, @AgenticZero, Money Rails, and @summit_defi were praised for their quality.
Notable Side Events
The quality of side events was very high this year. Fewer than in other conferences, but very good. Some notable ones praised were DeFi Connect, Sky Connect, Bankless Summit, WalletCon, DeFi Day del Sur, Arbipanadas, and DuneCon.
Devconnect for Mimic
Devconnect Argentina has been a very meaningful event for us. Mimic was born here, built by a team of Argentinian engineers who believed crypto infra could solve real-world problems.The main highlight for us was our booth at the DeFi District. We had a mini prediction game which featured 426 players, with rewards that made people queue to get, like our termo or our little octopus plushie.
We hosted a couple of side events, focused at builders and developers, which featured incredible conversations. We learned a lot and are planning to implement all the insights to improve Mimic Protocol moving forward!

Lastly, we were fortunate to get invited to present Mimic and talk at some events and panels, even featuring a 5 minute pitch at ETH/ACC Demo Day!
